Leica Wedding Photography

I had the great opportunity to capture a wedding documentary style.

I captured the event with two cameras.

Secret Party

At every party there is a secret party.
One that only few know about and are invited to.
I was lured away from the crowd to one of these clandestine gatherings.
I turned down the smoke as it is not my thing.
I partook in drink instead.

They handed me a big shot of Fireball whiskey.
I gargled the cinnamon spiced liquor and then swished it around in my mouth.
After swallowing I asked if they had handed me water and if there was anything stronger.

As I raised my Leica to my eye I said “document everything”.
I then smiled and said “don’t worry…..
I’ll only capture you from the nose down.”

Polebridge, Montana

Polebridge, Montana is one of my new favorite places.
It is located on the Northwest side of Glacier National Park.
Polebridge is off the grid.
They have a diesel generator and utilize solar power.

We drank Cold Smoke Scotch Ale and ate great food at the Northern Lights Saloon.
The bread baked at the Mercantile is good enough to write home about.
We visited three times during our stay at the park.

We were fortunate enough to celebrate their 100th anniversary with the locals on the Fourth of July.

We will definitely go back someday.....

All images captured with a Leica M9 and two lenses.....

Resort Kids

Beth and Biva are seasonal workers in St. Mary, Montana just outside Glacier National Park.
Like the other “Resort Kids” I was told that when they go to a new place each season that they have instant friends.
I imagine that they all share a common goal.
They are all looking for a good time.
I don't know if anyone has ever used the term "Resort Kids" before.
I think it suits their situation and has a nice connotation.

Beth tends bar at Kip’s Beer Garden.
It's a hangout for the locals..... not the tourists.

When Beth noticed that I was taking their photo she immediately struck a pose.
She told me that she used to be a model.

  Biva works at the lodge.
After chatting for awhile he invited me to party with them after hours.

My love and I planned to hit the trail early the next morning so I passed.
I can't stop thinking that I would have gotten some great photos though.

All images captured with a Leica M9 and Voigtlander 28mm Ultron.
